30th July!!!

So with not having done anything at OSIM.... i took a morning ride did about 25km ... short but i was pushing the pace abit ... did not want to fatigue myself to much for the swim this evening with the trifam ppl ... came back rested abit before i went down to passione bikes to get my aero bars put on to my bike only to be told that my handle bar ( thanks cannondale for having weird ass bars so i can't put on aero bars on to my bike) reason being .. GG .. is that at the stem area is oversized but it tappers downs so there is no way to cramp the aero bars down blah... so looks like i will have to suffer during 70.3 .... was hopping to at least rest myself on the aero's during the flat which is almost the whole route for the 70.3 .... but o well .... sigh hahaha

I always look forward to mondays swim... something to get the week started for me... i must say it has really helped me. When i went for the swim trails for the nus bi at the beginning of this yr my timing for 1500 was 34 mins .... a few weeks ago when i did some charity swim at SICC .... my 1500 was sub 28mins .. thats like 6 mins off my swim time ... an i only swim on mondays ... yesterday when we were doing 5 x 400 sets .. i actually did a sub 7min for the first 400 , followed by 7mins for the next one ... something i would never have dreamed off in my life ... i was normally happy swimming a min a lap that's all i wanted but to shave off a full min is something i must say .. actually, it's all thanks to joe aka mr coconut .. he pushes us every monday to swim ... :) i'm now a happy swimmer ...

29th July!!!

Sunday , OSIM day ... maybe not .... was down yesterday to support some friends of mine taking part in the sprint ... and at the same time to check out how the place was ... it was more of an adventure race at the transition area with the mud bath ... one of the guys was going it's more like a muddy place to waddle in with a beer ... So having learnt from yesterday ... i brought 2 coleman filled with water, trash bags, rags to battle the mud ...

So once again mother nature played a late April fools joke on us ... The sun was out this morning, was so looking forward to a nice sunny day doing the OD... but alas ... at about 11am a storm from the south west started blowing over ... lighting thunder blah blah blah ... so the whole race was postpone by half an hr .... there were still ppl cycling and swimming in the choppy sea .. the sea was white capped ... that's how bad it was ... tumbs-up to the ppl who were still in the sea swimming ... not to say the safety crew working out in the sea as well ... i'll put up picks once i can get my photo shop up to resize them :) Mr coconut at work hehehe ...

Okie back to the race .. so having delayed it by half an hr, it was about 11.40 before the rain stopped an everyone was eager to start the race again... But BUT BUT .. due to the time ... blah blah blah ... the roads need to be open at 2 pm there is not enough time for all of us to complete the race .... so the swim was canceled ... least to say we were told to cycle 2 rounds not the full 4 rounds and 1 round of the run not 2 ... So, i decided that it's not worth getting all muddy for a 20km bike and 5km run .. i went home ... so much for my first Osim OD .. my last as well i think ... next up is 70.3 woot !!!!!

27th of July!

Hmmm 2 more days to OSIM... lets just say this week has been pretty uneventful. Had the flu bug so that stopped me from training on tuesday and wednesday. Was suppose to go for a ride on thursday night with the ENR buddies but just as i got to the F2 carpark ... i forgot about my cycling shoes ... GG... i knew while driving on my way there, that i had missed something out but can't in my life figure it out till i got to the car park and by the time i got back home to get my shoes it was like 8.10pm so i gave it a miss ... i stay at upper thomson by the way so yar ... travelling back to ECP would take me at least 20mins ... plus the ride was starting at 8pm...

Woke up this morning thinking that i could get some household chores done then head out for a morning ride just to keep the legs warm for OSIM .. no mother nature thought it was better for me to stay at home. Kinda got played out since there were some rays of sun shine this morning. Thanks to the wonderful invention called the bike trainer i manage to do a 1 hr set before i got bored.. Well i most prob head down tomorrow to cheer some ppl on and take some photos. At the same time scope out how bad the bike route is..

23ard of July 07

Monday, somehow i always look forward to being tortured by mr coconut at the pool. Was suppose to do 10x300 sets, but ended up doing 6x300 and 3x200 followed by 2x100. Dion decided that we should put some kicking workout in as well. After, which my legs felt like lead. Daryl was going OSIM is like 5 days away need to start tapering down. I told him it's going to be like training for 70.3 which is a month and ahalf away, so why borther.

Went to passion today to finally get my carbon cages for me bike. Had enough of the wannbe chrom plating cages that i have on my bike now which makes it look totally uncool. Carbon ones make it look totall more happening. Was talking to Dan as well about aero bars for my bike as i think it would be better when i use them for 70.3. He was explaining that it had to be really short so that i do not compromise the geometry of my body position when cycling since i was using a roadbike. Cyclewerk's does sell their custom make ones for about 150 bucks. Not so bad if you ask me.

I still don't understand why OSIM has to start so late. 11.20am is when my wave kicks off, by the time i get to the running part it would be 1pm in the afternoon, not to say it's going to be bloody hottt!!!! But then again on the good side at least i'll have time to recover from Ash's and Schwing's birthday party. Not a good combo i say velvet on friday and party on saturday. Totally forgot when i signed up that it is like smack in the middle of both their birthdays.

Well, hopefully it does not rain tomorrow night so ENR will be on, i really need to clock in some cycling time not to say milage as well.
